So what do you think? Is the rumours are true or false? Do you guys have any info? The price for such fullframe (if there is!) is really tempting!

Is This Photoshopped?"Is it Photoshopped?" is the question many professional, amateur or hobbyist photographers may face occasionally. I think this perception comes from the ambiguous insight with respect to modern photography. Back in old days, when the film photography was ruling, darkroom was the place where people used to enhance their photos. Transferred from "film" to "digital", image industry brought along new technologies and accompanying software such as Photoshop which essentially do similar tasks as old-fashioned darkroom. Two questions one may ask; is this photo enhanced? Or is it manipulated? Which one is right and which one not? The truth is both are OK depending on what a photographer intends to do. There is a variety of categories in photography and each has its own definition. While in "press photography" and "photojournalism" the use of software such as Photoshop becomes very limited, in artistic or "fine art photography" there are more room to enhance the picture, and ultimately in "crea

My Shot in National Geographic's websiteEach week the editors of National Geographic Magazine select 60 pictures out of thousands of photos submitted by amateur photographers around the world and feature them in "Daily Dozen" section of their website. I am pretty happy that my first submission, which was Dance on the Edge, was selected for "July-week 2".
To see, you can go to their website => The Magazine => Your Shot => Daily Dozen or just simply click on this . Then choose "July-Week 2" from drop down menu and you see my shot, which is the first one from right.
Although nobody gets paid for that but it's a rewarding challenge when your shot is chosen among thousands of other submissions.
June Flavour! To share with you few of my favorite shots taken by amazing artists here in DA. Hope you enjoy!

The Oldest Deviations in DeviantArt!I was looking at deviations way back today and as a curiosity I pulled the calendar back to the oldest possible date a deviation has been submitted. For those who hasn't checked this out, here we go! It's August 3, 2000 and :icondangeruss: has posted three deviations which is the first one!! Also and are the other two deviations submitted for that day. The thumb number of the first one is 12 [: thumb12 :] and apparently deviations 1-11 were either tests or have been deleted. It looks like quite history now!!!

How to Make a Good Profile PageHow to Make a Good Profile Page
Learn some helpful tips to ensure your profile page is appealing to the masses!
written by `miontre for Community Week in %projecteducate.
Quite simply, the way you present yourself is important. People make decisions about other people based on the way they present themselves. You know this is true because you do it yourself. There is no shame in this, because it's natural human behavior: we simply do not have the time to make decisions about each and every person we encounter from scratch, so we have to make some decisions based on how they present themselves. One such judgments made in this way is how worthwhile a person is - through this, we don't learn about a personality, but rather how long we are going to hold interest in this person.
If there's one thing which makes me uninterested in a person's profile, resulting in my immediate departure, it's when there's too much junk and mess on there - a result of careless presentation. :l

PE: Creating art on CommissionPE: Creating art on Commission
At some point in your career as an artist, you'll be asked to create artwork on commission. Whilst it's a wonderful feeling, being able to make money creating art, it's completely different than selling a personal piece you previously completed - accepting a commission means entering a temporary relationship with your client. As simple it may sounds, there's a lot to satisfying customer's needs, sometimes the best you can do is to say no. Being picky regarding which commission you accept is not a bad thing, but try not to automatically turn down commission because it seems to be violating your artistic integrity, it's hard to survive without paid jobs.
✐ 1. Communication and flexibility
This is the key aspect to being able to work on commissio

PE: Contrast in Digital ArtThis article aims to introduce different kinds of ‘contrast’ in digital art, although most of the following points can also be applied to other media as well.
(noun) - Contrast is a principle of art. When defining it, art experts refer to the arrangement of opposite elements (light vs. dark colors, rough vs. smooth textures, large vs. small shapes, etc.) in a piece so as to create visual interest, excitement and drama.
1. Colours and Brightness
One of the first things to come to mind when we think of ‘contrast’ are colours contrasting with each other.
(The colours labelled as 'primary' are the primary colours in the RGB colour model. Primary colours of the CMYK colour model are cyan, magenta and yellow.)
Canon 7D or 3D or 5D MK II - True or False?!It's been a rumour for a while that Canon will introduce its next "fullframe" DSLR in upcoming Photokina exhibition in the name of 7D or 3D or 5D Mark II. One of the initial rumours was in Oct 2007 http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1032&message=25136368 . At that time it look liked kind of silly and some posts mention the spec is based on the writer's imagination! CNet.com also mentioned this rumour first in Dec 2007 http://news.cnet.com/8301-13580_3-9835381-39.html and then in March 2008 http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-9895607-1.html . An "unverified" picture of 7D with EF 24-105 L IS USM kit lens is also posted here http://www.engadget.com/2008/08/05/canon-eos-7d-rumors-heat-up-again/ in Aug 2008. Rumours say it will have 15.3-megapixel CMOS sensor, a 29-point AF system, Dual Digic III processors, sensitivity of up to ISO 25,600, a 3-inch LCD, up to 6 frames per second for continuous shooting, and the same weather sealing as the 1D series with the price of $1899 !!
